BTC publication award – Regulations 2023

The Belgian Thyroid Club aims to acknowledge a clinical/translational/basic researcher who performed an original study in the field of thyroidology or parathyroidology, which has been accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal in the year 2022 or 2023. 

The candidate must be ≤50 years old on the date of acceptance of the paper, be either first or last author on the paper, and professionally active in Belgium. Candidates who received a young BTC award  for the same study cannot participate in the same year. 

The jury is composed of the board members of the Belgian Thyroid Club. Board members with a conflict of interest will not participate in the evaluation. The jury has the right not to award the prize. 

One  laureate will be selected to give a lecture in person (15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion) during the BTC Winter symposium on 9 December 2023. Non-availability on this date is exclusion criterium for application.  

The laureate will receive a prize of €1000. 

The electronic submission of the candidature should contain: 

  • a cover letter (max. 1 page)
  • the published paper (PDF) with proof of date of acceptance
  • a short CV (max. 1 page)

The candidate cannot submit more than 1 paper.
