Brussels is a metropolis of art and culture with unique venues, the home of the European institutions and international organisations, a hub of research and business, a long-standing congress and trade fair city and a capital with a unique lifestyle and a hospitable; tolerant and cosmopolitan character. It is also the home of our Royal family.
The conference congress centre BOZAR located in the city centre (easy accessible by train from the international airport and train stations) will let you enjoy the event and make it easy to discover the heritage and lifestyle of Brussels. It is surrounded by several (top) hotels at walking distance.
A visit to the city is ideal for a walk along historical buildings like the St. Michael Cathedral, the magnificent Town Hall at the Grand Place or to enjoy one of the many museums the city offers, like the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, the Magritte museum and many others. When you need a break, there are plenty possibilities to enjoy a famous Belgian beer, a waffle or a coffee with some unforgettable chocolates. For those who want more, Brussels has a large number of star restaurants, offering traditional dishes, modern cuisine, but also the best international food.
For many years, thyroid research -clinical and fundamental- is famous in Belgium and especially in Brussels. Who doesn’t know the work on thyroid receptors, endemic goitres, the associations with pregnancy, and much more.
We are looking forward to organizing the 44th European Thyroid Association meeting in 2022, exactly 40 years after the previous ETA meeting in Brussels.
Please come enjoy our beautiful city and we hope the meeting will be at the basis of future excellent research in the thyroid field.
